Nursery Assistant – Independent Nursery School – Wandsworth
Are you passionate about working with young children and making a difference in their early years? A warm and welcoming independent nursery school in Wandsworth is looking for a dedicated Nursery Assistant to join their nurturing team. This is a fantastic opportunity to work in a creative, child-centred environment where every day is filled with learning, fun, and discovery.
As a Nursery Assistant, you will support the development and care of young children, helping them explore and grow through play-based activities. You will work alongside experienced practitioners to create a positive and safe learning environment where every child is encouraged to reach their potential and develop a love for learning.
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Support the day-to-day care and learning of children aged 2-5 years
- Encourage children’s curiosity, creativity, and exploration through a range of engaging activities
- Help with personal care routines and promote good hygiene practices
- Foster a safe, supportive, and inclusive environment where children feel happy and valued
- Work alongside other staff to plan and deliver fun, educational activities in line with the EYFS framework
- Build positive relationships with children and parents, ensuring open communication and a strong partnership
What We’re Looking For:
- A genuine passion for working with young children and supporting their development
- Experience working with children in a nursery or early years setting is preferred, but not essential
- A friendly, patient, and positive attitude , with the ability to engage children in learning activities
- A team player with strong communication skills
- Level 2 or 3 qualification in Childcare (or equivalent) is desirable but not essential
- Enhanced DBS check required
