Drama Educator and Therapy Specialist Roles
Introduction
We seek an exceptional Head of Drama and Head of Key Stage 3 to lead Drama and oversee pastoral care for Years 7-9 students within our vibrant school community. This opportunity offers an ambitious and inspiring teacher to shape curriculum and create engaging performances while ensuring every student thrives.
Responsibilities
- Champion Excellence: Inspire outstanding teaching, learning, and student achievement in Drama.
- Curriculum Development: Shape and deliver an ambitious, inclusive Drama curriculum that nurtures creativity and talent.
- Performances & Enrichment: Plan and lead whole-school productions, performances, and enrichment opportunities.
- Pastoral Leadership: Lead pastoral care, behaviour, attendance, and personal development for KS3 students to ensure their wellbeing and academic success.
- Form Tutor Support: Support and develop Key Stage 3 Form Tutors, delivering impactful weekly assemblies.
- Student Guidance: Guide students through their educational journey, including transition support and GCSE options advice.
- Colleague Development: Coach and develop colleagues, sharing best practice and contributing to whole-school improvement.
Requirements
- Passion for Drama: Genuine passion for Drama and inspire performance and creativity in young people.
- Outstanding Practitioner: An outstanding classroom practitioner with high expectations and commitment to helping every student achieve their potential.
- Leadership Skills: Vision and confidence to lead, motivate, and develop colleagues in a collaborative environment.
- Student Wellbeing Understanding: Understand the importance of supporting students’ wellbeing, behaviour, and academic success.
- Relationship Building Skills: Builds strong relationships with students, families, and colleagues through clear communication and supportive approach.
- Commitment to Inclusion & Safeguarding: Fully committed to inclusion, safeguarding, and ensuring exceptional outcomes for every student.
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS): QTS or equivalent required.
Working Conditions
This position involves working 40 hours per week during term time. You will work in a nurturing and inspiring environment with small class sizes (typically 12-15 students) and strong pastoral care.
