EXPERIENCED SENIOR HORTICULTURIST (Must have a full, clean driving licence)
2-3 years experience, great plant identification skills, managerial/leadership experience preferred
Full time - Monday - Friday
Salary - £28,000 - £35,000 DOE
Holiday - 25 days per year (plus bank holidays)

Start date - ASAP (3 Month probationary period)

About Botanically
We are a South East London based Gardening company with a focus on Eco practises and materials. With this commitment to eco-friendly and green gardening Botanically only use hand or electric tools and drive fully electric vans to reduce carbon emissions and improve local air and noise quality. Physical pest and weed control techniques are favoured and toxic chemicals are never used. Organic, sustainable, recycled, reusable and recyclable materials are used where available and sourced as locally as possible.
As an RHS trained horticulturist, Ryan, the company Director, is passionate about eco-friendly and innovative gardening and planting design. After ten year's experience in London's top domestic and commercial gardens Ryan took the leap in the midst of 2020's global pandemic and created Botanically. Botanically offers an array of services including garden maintenance, planting design and installation, garden clearance, lawn care and green pest control.
We're a small team of friendly, like minded people who care about gardening and our environment.
Responsibilities
- Leadership, optimisation and growth of the Maintenance Team including potential further recruitment
- Development of relationships with clients
- Eco-friendly garden maintenance alongside providing year-round interest for clients
- Working with Ryan to create seasonal bedding, bulb and other planting offers
- Working with Ryan to create ideas and offers to upsell to clients
- Ensuring the maintenance team have the training, tools, equipment and processes to deliver the service
- Promote and role model the Botanically Ryan values through leadership, being well presented and professional communication with clients
- Collection and delivery of plants and materials for clients
- Responsible for a Botanically Ryan owned electric van keeping it regularly charged and cleaned
- Responsible for all Botanically Ryan tools and equipment stored in the van and the lock-up
- Line management of an assistant
What good will look like
A leader in all areas of maintenance at Botanically, this role will develop the relationships with their clients by providing the absolute best service in eco-friendly gardening. They will become an expert in your clients' individual gardens and use your horticultural knowledge to develop the gardens, provide year round interest and work with Ryan to provide extra services throughout the year. They will ensure that the maintenance team have the right training, tools, equipment and processes to deliver this service.
Career development
Botanically has ambition to grow both the maintenance and design sides of the business. The anticipated development for this role would be to become Head of Maintenance and have full responsibility for the maintenance teams as soon as the business needs are there.
Qualifications
- Level 2 Diploma in Horticulture preferred but not necessary. Experience, 2-3 years+
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Full/Clean Driving Licence
