Senior software engineer
Job Description:
Senior Software Engineer - Artificial Intelligence - London - £100,000 - £150,000 base + Equity
We are working with an ambitious, well-funded defence technology company revolutionising how organisations collaborate with sensors, robots, and autonomous systems. This is a pivotal moment to join a high-calibre team solving some of the most complex and consequential problems in the field. From day one, you’ll have real ownership and influence over design, functionality, and direction, no layers of bureaucracy, just the opportunity to make a tangible impact.
About the Role
You will design, build, and test core software platforms and user interfaces. This includes deploying and testing with autonomous and robotic systems in the field, writing maintainable code for mission-critical environments, integrating with third-party APIs, and contributing to the development and documentation of internal APIs. Working closely with end users, you’ll rapidly iterate on the features that matter most — sometimes in live environments alongside real systems.
Required Skills
- Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field (or equivalent experience)
- Strong programming skills in C++, Rust, Java
- 8+ years of professional software engineering experience
Preferred Skills
- Experience with autonomous systems and robotics
Benefits
- Mission & impact: Build software directly supporting defence and humanitarian operations
- Ownership: Shape architecture, product direction, and team culture from day one
- Peers: Collaborate with founders and experts in AI/ML, robotics, and networking
- Growth: Expand into new domains and broaden your technical expertise
- Rewards: Competitive base salary (£100k–150k), significant equity, full benefits, and SC clearance support
How to Apply
If you are interested, please get in touch:
We encourage you to apply even if you don’t meet every requirement. If you have strong academics, drive, and the willingness to learn, we want to hear from you.
Note: If you haven’t received a reply within three days, your application was unfortunately not successful.
