Position title: General Manager (Maternity Cover)

Location : Wimbledon mainline station (SW19 7NE)

Pay: £39,000.00–£44,000.00 per year

Plus a completion bonus of £1,500–£2,000 upon successfully completing the 12-month maternity cover period (subject to terms).

Served Coffee & Juice is a well-established and popular independent coffee shop in the heart of Wimbledon. It's a stone's throw from Wimbledon mainline station (SW19 7NE). We serve artisan coffee and delicious juices, shakes and freshly baked goods. With further exciting plans for more sites to be rolled out across London in the coming years!

Job Summary:

Position title: General Manager (Maternity Cover)
Reports to: Operations Manager

As the General Manager, you will be responsible for the overall day-to-day operation and performance of the coffee shop, ensuring the highest standards across customer service, team engagement, food quality, and financial performance.

This is a maternity cover position for a fixed-term period of 12 months. We are looking for an exceptional leader who is passionate about developing people, driving commercial success, and creating an outstanding customer experience. This is not a role for someone who wants to simply maintain standards—it is an opportunity for someone who wants to shape, build, and lead.

Your overall success in this position depends on your ability to inspire and develop a high-performing team while delivering strong operational and financial results.

Key Responsibilities:

• Motivate and empower your team to perform at their best, creating a positive and collaborative working culture.

• Take ownership of the store's financial performance by monitoring KPIs, managing costs, and identifying opportunities to drive sales and profitability.

• Ensure full compliance with health and safety procedures, daily due diligence, and Environmental Health Officer (EHO) requirements.

• Maintain exceptional standards of cleanliness, presentation, food quality, and customer service throughout the coffee shop.

• Build, lead, coach, and develop a high-performing team that consistently delivers excellent results.

• Implement clear systems and processes that drive consistency, accountability, and operational efficiency.

• Raise standards across service, product quality, and the overall customer experience.

• Create a welcoming environment that encourages customers to become part of the Served community.

• Work closely with senior leadership to ensure your coffee shop delivers against company goals, values, and vision.

Key Qualifications:

• Minimum 2 years' experience in a General Manager or similar management role within hospitality or retail.

• Experience managing a team of 6–8 people.

• Strong commercial awareness with experience managing KPIs and financial performance.

• Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.

• Passionate about developing people and creating a positive team culture.

• Motivated to be a people-centric leader who leads by example.
