We have not only saved millions for the NHS, but we have countless stories of how we have improved the lives of clinicians who, for the first time, are able to plan their work lives around their personal lives.
What sets us apart is not only our leading edge technology and approach to innovation, it’s our culture and our strength of mission. Our incredible team is the driving force behind our success and this propels our competitive edge. We are diverse (10+ nationalities and 53% female workforce), we are authentic and true to ourselves, we are creative and focused and we work hard together to change our industry. Our team is supported to deliver their best work with clear career progression and a strong feedback culture.
We have a bright and modern office which you can work from throughout the week and 3 core office days per week (Monday, Tuesday & Wednesday) where the whole team comes together.
About the role
Are you early in your finance career and looking to gain hands-on experience in a fast-paced, supportive environment? We're looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Finance Assistant to join our team on an initial 6-month temp-to-perm basis.
This is a varied and development-focused role that touches on all key areas of finance, from accounts payable and receivable to clinician payments and month-end support.
You'll play a crucial part in ensuring our finance operations run smoothly, contributing to accurate financial reporting and process improvements that support the wider business. This is a great opportunity to learn, grow, and take on new responsibilities as our company evolves.
Responsibilities
As Finance Assistant, you’ll support day-to-day finance operations, including:
- Accounts Receivable: Allocating receipts, uploading bank statements, chasing remittances, responding to customer queries, raising customer invoices and managing invoice adjustments.
- Clinician Payments: Handling daily and twice weekly payment runs, managing ledgers, and reconciling outgoing payments.
- Accounts Payable: Processing supplier invoices and staff expenses, managing internal spends, and ensuring accurate coding and VAT treatment.
- Month-End Support: Completing bank reconciliations, supporting month end close, and P&L reviews.
- Finance Admin: Maintaining process documentation, handling post and filing, and assisting with ad hoc finance projects.
- Process Improvement: Working with the team to streamline workflows and adopt new tools and systems as we grow.
Requirements
About you - We’ll be looking for
- Around 1 year of experience in a broad finance or accounting role is desirable, though less will be considered
- Interest in working towards a recognised accounting qualification (e.g. CIMA, ACCA, AAT)
- Good understanding of basic finance principles, including double entry, reconciliations, and invoicing
- Comfortable working across a variety of finance tasks, with strong attention to detail and a proactive, can-do attitude
- Good working knowledge of Excel and Google Sheets - able to use formulas and work confidently with large datasets
Interview process
- Introductory Interview with the Hiring Manager: This is a conversation with the hiring manager. It’s an opportunity for us to learn more about your background and for you to ask any initial questions about the role and Lantum. This stage also includes elements of a first-round interview to explore your experience in more depth.
- Challenge Interview: In this practical stage, you’ll be given a scenario or problem to solve that reflects real aspects of the role. It’s designed to showcase how you apply your skills in context. You’ll complete this practical challenge, followed by a short discussion about your approach and insights with a small group of stakeholders.
- Values Interview: You’ll meet a few more members of the team to discuss how your approach aligns with Lantum’s values. This stage typically includes competency-based questions, and it’s also your chance to ask about team culture and what it’s like to work at Lantum day-to-day.
