Research Advisor
British Heart Foundation (BHF) is the UK’s largest independent funder of cardiovascular research. Through our extensive portfolio of active research projects, we fund some of the most exciting and innovative cardiovascular research, supporting outstanding scientists from PhD students through to BHF Professors.
As a Research Advisor, you’ll play a pivotal role in bringing our research strategy to life and support the discovery of new ways to prevent, diagnose and treat heart and circulatory disease.

Interview process First‑stage interviews will be held via Microsoft Teams on Wednesday 27th and Thursday 28th May. The interview will include a presentation and a grant assessment exercise. A second‑stage interview may be required and would take place in person at our London offices.
How to apply
- A PhD or equivalent in a biomedical science discipline.
- Experience of cardiovascular or related research at doctoral and/or postdoctoral level.
- The ability to interpret complex research data and communicate it clearly to non‑specialist audiences.
- An understanding of academic career pathways and the key areas where targeted support can be most beneficial.
