Overview
We are seeking an experienced, proactive, and personable full-time Housekeeper/Cook to support the smooth running of a large 8-bedroom private family home in Hampstead, London.
This is a warm, semi-formal household of four, with occasional visiting family members. The successful candidate will take pride in maintaining high housekeeping standards while confidently preparing fresh, nutritious meals for the family. A positive, “can-do” attitude and a child-friendly approach are essential, although no childcare duties are required.
Key Responsibilities
- Daily cleaning, tidying, and organisation of the property to a high standard
- Full laundry care, including washing, ironing, and wardrobe management
- Running household errands and food shopping
- Pantry and household stock management
- Liaising with tradespeople and contractors as required
- Preparing daily family meals for 4–6 people, including children’s snacks
- Maintaining a calm, discreet, and professional presence within the home
Requirements
- Proven experience working within a private household in a similar Housekeeper or Housekeeper/Cook role
- Enhanced DBS
- Confident home cook, able to prepare fresh, family-style meals independently
- Child-friendly and comfortable working around primary school-aged children
- Trustworthy, organised, and detail-oriented
- Smartly presented with excellent spoken English preferred
- Able to work independently and manage household tasks efficiently
- Right to work in the UK
