What you’ll be doing: Plan, prepare, and deliver high-quality lessons that engage and challenge children and young people. Foster a positive learning environment that supports children and young people's educational and personal growth. Assess and monitor student progress, providing constructive feedback and support. Work collaboratively with colleagues, parents, and the wider school community to ensure student success. Participate in school activities, extracurricular programs, and professional development opportunities. What we’re looking for: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) A qualification in SEND education is desirable. Experience of working with children with SEND and ASC is ideal but applications from those working in mainstream settings are very welcome Experience in teaching English as a specialism Strong classroom management skills and the ability to inspire and motivate children and young people. Mapesbury School is our new Special Educational Needs schoo in Cricklewood, Brent. Our small school supports children aged between 7 to 16 years with Autism and associated conditions who have not been able to access education in a mainstream or specialist setting and would benefit from an integrated therapeutic approach to education. Pupils will have an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) but may not yet have a diagnosis, though they display traits of Autism and associated conditions. Mapesbury School is part of Kedleston Group. We specialise in providing specialist education and care for children aged 7-19 with a range of special educational needs and disabilities (SEND). These include autistic spectrum condition (ASC), attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) and social emotional and mental health needs (SEMH). We are committed to safeguarding and protecting children and we expect all colleagues to share this commitment.
