History Teacher – Lead KS3 Curriculum Design and Embed Disciplinary Skills in Diverse Contexts – Newham
A highly supportive and academically minded secondary school in Newham is seeking an experienced and analytically strong History Teacher to lead Key Stage 3 Curriculum Development from January 2026.
- History Teacher required from January 2026.

- Seeking a specialist to lead the development of the KS3 curriculum , focusing on embedding disciplinary skills (causation, consequence, significance) and introducing global contexts.
You will teach History across KS3-KS5, ensuring the curriculum is challenging and skills-focused. The role includes developing departmental expertise in sequencing knowledge and skills effectively to prepare students for strong GCSE outcomes.
Experience and Qualifications
- Qualified Teacher Status ( QTS ) and a degree in History.
- Proven ability to secure high grades at GCSE/A-Level History.
- Experience in curriculum design and sequencing at Key Stage 3.
- Willingness to contribute to academic enrichment programs, such as history clubs.
