OverviewAre you an experienced professional with a strong technical background in Marine Hull Insurance? Join Gallagher Specialty , a leading global marine insurance provider, as a Divisional Director in our London office. This is a unique opportunity to work in a niche, international environment, with hands-on responsibilities and the chance to grow both personally and professionally.
How you'll make an impactAs a Divisional Director, you will play a pivotal role in supporting Hull Underwriters and Clients in London and overseas. Your focus will be on achieving optimum account retention and revenue growth while ensuring clients’ interests remain central to all decisions, in alignment with Gallagher’s core values.
Key Responsibilities
Client Relationship Management:
- Increase existing business by recommending tailored solutions and maintaining strong relationships, which may involve overseas travel.
- Co-ordinate and attend strategy meetings prior to renewals, evaluating client and agent needs for new and existing contracts. -**
Policy and Market Expertise:
- Identify appropriate carriers, negotiate favourable quotes, and prepare recommendations.
- Review policy documentation, assist with enquiries and renewals, and ensure systems and databases are up to date.
Operational Excellence:
- Collaborate with the technical operations team to maintain good credit control and minimise bad debt and unallocated cash.
- Work with Operations and Compliance teams to enhance procedures and improve team efficiency.
- Robust knowledge of general insurance and the Marine Hull Market.
- Ability to quickly identify potential problems and provide effective solutions, especially during periods of change.
- Confident in using Management Information (MI) to improve processes and implement efficiencies.
- Strong regulatory awareness and excellent interpersonal skills.
- Strategic mind-set with the ability to develop solutions to complex problems.
- Exceptional prioritisation skills to balance conflicting demands and navigate ambiguity. - Negotiation skills to achieve mutually beneficial outcomes.
- Powerful presentation skills and the ability to communicate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
- A proactive approach to enhancing team procedures and driving operational improvements.
