A leading name in the UK commercial insurance market is expanding its broker-facing team with talented, forward-thinking Construction Underwriters who are ready to make an impact.

Whether clients come via brokers, by phone, or online, this business prides itself on making it easy to do business. Now, they’re looking for someone who can bring energy, expertise, and a fresh perspective to how they serve the mid-market construction sector.

What you’ll be doing:
As a Senior Construction Underwriter, you’ll take ownership of your broker relationships, drive profitable growth, and play a key role in mentoring and supporting the wider team.

You’ll:
- Underwrite new and existing business profitably and accurately, using all available tools and insight
- Own and develop strong trading relationships with a panel of brokers, taking full responsibility for profitable growth
- Build and manage a robust pipeline of new business opportunities, ensuring long-term client engagement
- Lead meetings, presentations, and tender responses to win business and showcase our strengths
- Support, coach, and develop fellow underwriters to elevate technical and trading capability
- Act as a technical referral point for the team, guiding complex underwriting decisions

What you’ll bring:
- Proven experience as a Construction Underwriter ideally, in the the the mid-market space, including contractors and liability risks
- Strong technical knowledge and ideally background in a composite insurance environment (preference but not essential)
- Commercial awareness, negotiation skills, and a genuine passion for building broker relationships
