Interim Finance Business Partner Role
Responsibilities:
- Management accounts - Prepare, review, and explain monthly results and variances.
- Financial support - Advise on income, costs, margins, budgets, forecasts, and contracts.
- Month-end - Accruals, prepayments, revenue recognition, journals, balance sheet.
- Budgets & forecasts - Support planning and reforecasting.
- Contract/project reporting - Improve profitability, cost control, KPIs, commitments.
- Cashflow inputs - Provide accurate expected income and costs.
- Issue resolution - Work with AP/AR/procurement/ops to fix invoicing and balance issues.
- Audit support - Prepare evidence and resolve queries.
- Process improvement - Strengthen reporting, controls, and data quality.
- Risk escalation - Flag key risks and control issues.
- Management accounting - reporting, variances, budgeting, forecasting.
- Core accounting - accruals, prepayments, revenue recognition, balance sheet.
- Operational finance - explain performance and drive actions.
- Multi-area support - adaptable across contracts.
- Contract/project finance - profitability, cost control.
- Month-end & audit - reconciliations and evidence.
- Analysis & insight - turn data into recommendations.
- Systems - strong Excel; Sage 200 helpful.
- Controls & governance - audit trail, public sector awareness.
- Qualification - ACCA/CIMA/CIPFA
