Corporate Lending Proposition Manager - Core
Corporate Lending Proposition Manager - Core
Team Commercial & Private Banking Location Holborn Office County Central London Ref # 23611 Closing Date 25-Aug-2025 We have been awarded the " Most Loved Workplace ”! At Metro Bank, people come first – our culture is all about bringing the best out in our colleagues, and making sure everyone feels valued, respected, seen and included. We strongly believe in a diverse and inclusive workplace and to find the very best person for the job, we always look across a wide range of diverse communities . What you will do: As the Commercial Lending Proposition Manager, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the lending experience for our Corporate & Commercial Banking customers. Sitting at the intersection of credit, customer, risk, and operations, this role ensures that our lending products not only meet the evolving needs of our clients but also remain commercially viable, operationally efficient, and within the bank’s risk appetite. This is a highly visible role that supports both "run the bank” and "grow the bank” priorities, directly contributing to the bank’s strategic goals as we pivot to corporate and commercial lending. You will manage the end to end Product lifecycle of new and existing Commercial Lending products (e.g. term loans, overdrafts, revolving credit facilities) across Corporate & Commercial Banking. • Review and optimise the end-to-end customer journey, identifying opportunities to improve speed, clarity, and experience both for staff and customers • Work closely with Risk stakeholders Credit, and Operations to meet governance requirements for existing products as well as any new lending propositions across Corporate & Commercial Banking • Be a key contributor in the design of the wider governance framework for the Commercial Lending products as we grow further into the corporate and commercial space • Explore and identify new use cases for AI implementation to help streamline processes • Support product pricing strategy, including development of pricing matrices and alignment with risk-adjusted return expectations • Collaborate with Risk, Compliance, and Legal to ensure products remain within policy and regulatory requirements • Lead delivery of product governance initiatives driven by business strategy, regulatory change, or customer feedback • Maintain product documentation, eligibility criteria, and controls to support a strong product governance environment • Monitor performance of the lending portfolio, using data and insight to recommend improvements or to feed into product reviews And... we are a bank so risk is a part of everything we do. We love people who take responsibility, do the right thing for customers, colleagues and Metro Bank and have the ability to call out any concerns. What you will need:• Understand the risks associated with your job and what that means for you, Metro Bank and all our stakeholders • Commercial Product Management Experience - Sound understanding of Commercial lending products (e.g. term loans, overdrafts, RCFs) with experience in managing or developing propositions • Change Delivery: Proven track record of delivering product or process change — from concept through to implementation • Customer Journey Awareness: The ability to map, review, and improve end-to-end customer and colleague journeys • Strategic Thinking: Commercial mindset with the ability to identify market opportunities, assess portfolio risks, and develop value-adding product strategies • Stakeholder Engagement: Skilled in working across first and second line functions including Legal, Compliance, Credit, Risk, Technology, and Operations • Communication & Influence: Confident communicator, capable of presenting product ideas or recommendations to senior stakeholders and working groups • Risk & Regulatory Awareness: Understanding of product governance, risk controls, and regulatory obligations relevant to commercial lending Our promise to you…
• We will make sure that you are well-rewarded by providing you with a competitive salary, discretionary annual bonus, and a wide range of benefits, including generous holiday allowance, attractive pension scheme, healthcare, life assurance, and a number of colleague discounts! • We will give you the training to ensure you succeed in your role and plenty of internal opportunities to progress your career (around 40% of our recruitment comes from internal promotions!). • We are also all about balance so most of our jobs offer the opportunity for hybrid working built around your role and home life, wherever possible. Important Footnote Diverse teams really are the best teams. We know that candidates (especially women, research tells us) may be put off applying for a job unless they can tick every box. We also know that ‘normal’ office hours aren’t always doable, and while we can’t accommodate every flexible working request we are happy to be asked. So if you are excited about working with us and think you can do much of what we are looking for but aren’t sure if you are 100% there yet… why not give it a whirl? Please note that sometimes we may close a job earlier for applications if we are inundated with amazing candidates.. Good luck!#LI-Loveyourjobatlast #LI-Hybrid #LI-REMOTE
