As the Service Yard Security Operative, you are the critical link ensuring the safe, efficient, and compliant operation of the Service Yards at our major King's Cross mixed-use development. This hands-on role involves coordinating logistics, managing site access for a wide range of stakeholders, and maintaining security standards across a dynamic construction environment that operates adjacent to King's Cross Station and is gradually transforming into a high-profile campus for our client

About the Role:
As a Shared Service Yard Operative, you will be responsible for:
Access, Egress & Logistics Management
- Traffic Control: Act as the designated Traffic Marshal, managing and directing all vehicle and machinery movements within the Service Yards to ensure the safety of all personnel.
- Delivery Coordination: Ensure all deliveries are processed efficiently, including coordinating contractor sign-in/out via the Delivery Management System (DMS) once the CDC (Consolidated Distribution Center) is live.
Security & Compliance
- Security Presence: Maintain a highly visible and overt security presence to proactively deter criminal, dishonest, and hazardous activities.
- Incident Response: Monitor for suspicious behavior/packages, report incidents promptly, and administer initial remedial actions as per operational workflows.
Emergency Response & Safety
- Emergency Liaison: Serve as a key first responder to pre-planned or significant events. In emergencies, take immediate control of Service Yard management, liaising effectively with the SSC/Control Room, GSOC, and external emergency services (Police, Fire, Ambulance).
- Safety Compliance: Prioritize the safety of employees, contractors, and customers, ensuring appropriate PPE is used by all personnel while on duty.
Communication & Teamwork
- Stakeholder Liaison: Maintain continuous, clear communication with Hut Security, the Google Security Team, and occupier service teams, keeping them updated on critical operational aspects.
- Shift Management: Ensure a detailed handover is received, read, and understood at the start of every shift, and all instructions are complied with.

What we are looking for:
- Sensory Acuity: A highly detail-oriented approach is essential for effective traffic and security monitoring.
- Leadership: Demonstrated strong leadership qualities and the confidence to take command and manage the Service Yards independently during emergencies.
- Adaptability: Ability to operate effectively and address immediate needs within a fast-changing operational environment.
- Excellent Customer Service Skills: Experience working in a high-traffic, customer-facing environment and the ability to deal with a wide variety of customers and stakeholder.
- SIA - DS/SG
- Please note that, successful candidates will be required to undergo periodic vetting checks during their employment. This is not a full vetting process, but a routine credit and directorship check and carried out every three years to ensure ongoing compliance with our security standards.
