GBN Shop Merchandise Manager
Purpose of the Role
The GBN Shop Merchandise Manager will take day-to-day ownership of the GB News online shop, building on its current performance and accelerating its growth as both a commercial revenue stream and Community engagement channel.
This is hands-on role suited to someone looking to take the next step in their e-commerce career, owning product development, supplier management, stock control and promotional execution within a fast-moving media environment.
The successful candidate will be responsible not only for running the shop operationally, but also driving measurable commercial performance – improving margins, increasing average order value, expanding product ranges and delivering revenue growth through smart merchandising and promotional activity.
This is an exciting opportunity for a commercially minded and proactive individual to take real ownership of a growing retail channel and shape its next phase of success.
Key Responsibilities:
•Take ownership of the GBN Shop’s day-to-day operations and commercial performance.
•Manage product listings, pricing strategy, stock levels and fulfilment.
•Develop new, on-brand merchandise concepts that resonate with the GB News audience.
•Monitor sales, margin and stock movement, identifying opportunities to increase revenue and profitability.
•Source and negotiate with suppliers to secure competitive pricing and strong margins.
•Manage supplier relationships and maintain an efficient production pipeline.
•Obtain and compare quotes for new product runs and promotional ranges, overseeing product quality control.
•Identify opportunities to expand product categories and increase average order value.
•Create limited-edition drops, exclusive offers and ranges aligned with key editorial moments, events and campaigns.
•Plan and execute promotional activity around key retail periods.
•Work with Marketing, Content, Editorial and other departments to integrate GBN Shop promotions across wider channels.
Qualifications & Experience
•3+ years’ experience in e-commerce, merchandise management, product buying or similar retail role.
•Experience sourcing suppliers and negotiating commercial terms.
•Understanding of margins, pricing strategy, stock control and inventory forecasting.
•Experience planning and executing retail promotions and seasonal campaigns.
•Highly organised with strong attention to detail.
•Commercially minded with a creative eye for product development and brand alignment.
