We are now looking for a caring, confident and organised Field Care Supervisor to join our team.

This could suit an experienced Field Care Supervisor, Care Supervisor or Team Leader, or an outstanding Senior Care Professional who is ready to take the next step into a supervisory role.

Job Description

This is a hands-on position at the heart of our care service. You will spend time both in the community and working alongside our office team in London Bridge.

Your main responsibility will be to ensure that our Care Professionals are confident, competent and well supported, and that our clients consistently receive safe, personalised and high-quality care.

You will:

• Carry out support visits, observations and competency assessments with Care Professionals in clients' homes.
• Conduct regular supervisions and provide coaching, feedback and practical support.
• Identify training and development needs and help Care Professionals achieve and maintain high standards.
• Support the preparation and review of person-centred care plans.
• Carry out quality assurance checks and identify opportunities to improve the service.
• Monitor standards of care and take appropriate action when concerns are identified.
• Support safeguarding processes and ensure care is delivered in line with CQC requirements and company policies.
• Build positive relationships with clients, families and Care Professionals.
• Work closely with our Care Manager and Care Coordinator to ensure continuity and quality of care.
• Support new Care Professionals during induction and their first months with Home Instead.
• Help us maintain a culture where people feel listened to, valued and supported.

Working pattern and on-call

This is a full-time role, but it is not a traditional Monday-to-Friday, 9-to-5 position .

Because our clients receive care throughout the week, the role requires a degree of flexibility. There will be occasions when you need to carry out visits or provide support outside standard office hours.

You will also take part in the on-call rota approximately once every three weeks .

We aim to plan workloads sensibly and share responsibilities fairly across the team, but the successful candidate will need to be comfortable working flexibly when the needs of clients and Care Professionals require it.

Qualifications

We are interested in hearing from people who already have supervisory experience as well as experienced care professionals who are ready to progress.

You should have:

• Good experience working in domiciliary care, home care or a similar adult social care environment.
• Experience as a Field Care Supervisor, Care Supervisor, Senior Care Professional, Senior Carer, Team Leader or similar role.
• A strong understanding of person-centred care.
• Good knowledge of safeguarding and safe care practice.
• The confidence to observe care practice and provide constructive feedback.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Good organisation and record-keeping skills.
• The ability to work independently and use sound judgement when visiting clients and Care Professionals.
• A supportive, calm and practical approach to solving problems.
• The flexibility to respond appropriately when support is required outside standard office hours.

A Level 3 qualification in Health and Social Care would be desirable, although we are also interested in candidates with strong practical experience and the right values.
