Content Creator and Marketing Manager

Firecracker Works
London

Creative Content & Marketing Manager

About Firecracker Works

Firecracker Works designs and builds physical experiences for some of the world’s most recognisable brands. From immersive installations and retail environments to events and bespoke fabrication, our work brings ambitious creative ideas into the real world.

Our London team combines project management, technical design and in-house manufacturing, including carpentry, metalwork, CNC, 3D printing, spray finishing and upholstery. There are compelling stories in the work we do, the people who make it and the challenges we solve.

We’re looking for someone who can find those stories and bring them to life.

The role

We are hiring a hands-on creative content producer who can also lead our day-to-day marketing and social media activity .

You’ll spend time in our workshops and on project sites, capturing the craft, energy and ingenuity behind our work. You’ll turn that material into distinctive photography, short-form video, project stories and campaigns that make people stop scrolling.

You must be comfortable taking a piece of content from idea to publication yourself: developing the concept, shooting, editing, writing the caption and publishing it. You’ll also plan our content calendar, maintain a consistent brand voice and help us make better use of the extraordinary work happening across the business.

This is not primarily a social media administration or outsourced-content management role . We need someone who can personally make excellent work.

What you’ll be responsible for

1. Create outstanding visual content

  • Film and photograph projects in our London workshops, during installation and at completed sites.

  • Independently produce engaging short-form video, particularly Instagram Reels and LinkedIn content.

  • Edit footage and photography to a consistently high visual standard, with strong pacing, sound, composition and storytelling.

  • Capture the people, processes, materials and technical problem-solving that make our projects interesting—not just the finished result.

  • Adapt content for different channels without losing its creative quality.

2. Tell the Firecracker Works story

  • Identify compelling stories across our projects, teams and facilities.

  • Develop content that demonstrates our craftsmanship, technical capability, creativity and approach to delivery.

  • Interview colleagues and turn their expertise into accessible, engaging stories.

  • Create project case studies and contribute photography, video and copy for our website and presentations.

  • Maintain a consistent visual identity and tone of voice across our communications.

3. Own the content plan and social channels

  • Build and manage a practical content calendar around our live projects and business priorities.

  • Work with Production Managers and department heads to identify filming opportunities and arrange access.

  • Plan shoots around fast-moving production schedules, sometimes at short notice.

  • Publish and manage content across Instagram and LinkedIn, with other channels used where appropriate.

  • Track content performance and use what you learn to improve future work.

4. Support wider marketing activity

  • Work with senior leadership to develop a clear, achievable marketing plan.

  • Help communicate company news, capabilities, new projects and significant milestones.

  • Produce or coordinate marketing assets for pitches, recruitment, events and business development.

  • Liaise with external photographers, filmmakers or agencies when a project genuinely requires additional support.

  • Ensure client approvals, confidentiality and usage rights are respected before content is published.

What we’re looking for

Essential

  • A strong portfolio of content you have personally created , comprising both photographic stills and video.

  • Proven experience shooting and editing high-quality short-form content independently.

  • Excellent visual judgement: you understand framing, lighting, composition, pacing and what makes a story engaging.

  • Confidence using professional editing software such as Adobe Premiere Pro or equivalent.

  • The ability to take a brief—or spot an opportunity yourself—and turn it into finished, publishable content.

  • Strong written English and the ability to write clear, engaging captions and project stories.

  • Experience planning and publishing content for a brand or business.

  • The confidence to work with people across a busy workshop, office and live project environment.

  • Excellent organisation and the ability to deliver without constant direction.

Preferable

Experience creating content for architecture, design, interiors, fabrication, construction, live events, experiential marketing or premium brands would be highly relevant.

We’re also interested in people who can demonstrate a distinctive creative point of view, even if their previous industry is different.

We care more about the quality of the work you can show us—and what you personally did to create it—than the number of years on your CV.

What success looks like

Within your first six months, we’d expect you to have established a reliable flow of high-quality content from our workshops and projects, developed a recognisable approach to Firecracker’s visual storytelling and built productive relationships with the people delivering our work.

We’d want to see a stronger portfolio of published project stories, more consistent and engaging social channels, and a practical content plan that supports the business without placing unnecessary demands on busy production teams.

The measure of success won’t simply be how often we post. It will be whether the content genuinely reflects the quality of our work and helps prospective clients, collaborators and future employees understand what makes Firecracker Works distinctive.

How to apply

Please submit your CV and a portfolio containing three examples of content you personally created. At least two must be video.

For each example, briefly tell us:

  • What was the brief or creative idea and who conceived it?

  • Which elements did you personally shoot, direct, edit and write?

  • What was the intended audience, and what did the content achieve?

Please include a link to your portfolio, website or relevant social media work. Applications without clear examples of personally produced content will not be shortlisted.

Shortlisted candidates may be invited to complete a short, creative assessment using approved Firecracker Works project footage.
