We’re one of the largest banking and financial services organisations in the world, with a network that covers more than 50 countries and territories. We aim to be where the growth is, enabling businesses to thrive and economies to prosper, and, ultimately, helping people fulfil their hopes and realise their ambitions.
We are currently seeking an experienced professional for our Asset Management Business in the role of Risk Manager.
This is a high-visibility opportunity to work closely with senior risk leadership across Asset Management, offering strong exposure to strategic decisions making across diverse risk areas, and a clear pathway for progression within the Risk Function. You’ll gain stakeholder exposure and play a key role in shaping risk frameworks and governance across the business.
As an HSBC employee in the UK, you’ll have access to tailored professional development opportunities and a competitive pay and benefits package. This includes private healthcare for all UK-based employees, enhanced maternity and adoption pay and support when you return to work, and a contributory pension scheme with a generous employer contribution.
In this role you will:
- Support the AMEU Chief Officer and Risk team in maintaining a robust risk management framework and governance structure. Including capital adequacy processes such as ICARA (or equivalent frameworks)
- Deliver and coordinate Risk Management Meeting (RMM) outputs, including reporting, insights, and action tracking
- Partner with Portfolio Managers to assess and challenge key investment risks, including liquidity, leverage, derivatives and sustainability
- Build and manage strong stakeholder relationships across global risk teams, Asset Management, and wider HSBC functions
- Contribute to continuous improvement of risk processes, ensuring effective oversight and alignment with regulatory expectations
To be successful in this role you should meet the following requirements:
- Demonstrate experience within Investment Risk in Asset Management or Financial Services
- An understanding of key risk disciplines (e.g. market, liquidity, investment, and operational risk)
- Experience interacting with and contributing to governance forums (e.g. risk committees, oversight forums)
- Experience with ICARA, capital adequacy assessments, or equivalent regulatory risk frameworks
- Proven stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence and challenge at senior levels
Opening up a world of opportunity.
Being open to different points of view is important for our business and the communities we serve. At HSBC, we’re dedicated to creating diverse and inclusive workplaces - no matter their gender, ethnicity, disability, religion, sexual orientation, or age. We are committed to removing barriers and ensuring careers at HSBC are inclusive and accessible for everyone to be at their best. We take pride in being a Disability Confident Leader and will offer an interview to people with disabilities, long term conditions or neurodivergent candidates who meet the minimum criteria for the role.
