SEN Teaching Assistant Role in Northolt – Helping Children Build Confidence and Independence

The Role

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide tailored support to pupils with SEN across the school day

  • Implement strategies from EHCPs, support plans, and behaviour plans

  • Support pupils with focus, communication, and engagement in learning

  • Assist with emotional regulation and positive behaviour management

  • Adapt learning materials to meet individual needs

  • Encourage independence and resilience in pupils

  • Support pupils during transitions and unstructured times

  • Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, and pastoral staff

  • Record observations and contribute to progress reviews

Some roles may involve personal care or physical support, depending on pupil needs. Full training and guidance will be provided, with a strong emphasis on dignity and safeguarding.
