The Client:
An education-focused organisation is seeking an organised and proactive Programme Officer to join their friendly, passionate team on a fixed-term contract until the end of July 2026. The organisation works in partnership with local schools and employers to create meaningful career and work experience opportunities for young people. You will be supporting the delivery of a programme, which connects schools, employers and communities to prepare students for careers in Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics.
The Role:
This is a varied and collaborative role, joining the programme team during a busy delivery period. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting the coordination of the work experience programme, alongside assisting with events, employer engagement and programme administration.
The role will involve working closely with schools, employers and partners to ensure activities run smoothly and communication remains clear and professional.
Duties will include (but are not limited to):
- Supporting the coordination and delivery of a work experience programme, liaising with schools and employer partners to confirm placements and logistics.
- Coordinating with external partners responsible for managing applications, placement data and reporting.
- Following up with partners to ensure safeguarding documentation, risk assessments and other required information is completed.
- Assisting with the planning and delivery of key events.
- Maintaining accurate programme records and supporting employer communications and engagement activity.
Candidate Specification
- Strong organisational and administrative skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Experience coordinating projects, programmes or events.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build relationships with schools, employers and stakeholders.
- Strong attention to detail and confidence managing documentation, data and programme records.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Outlook, Word and Excel, and the ability to quickly learn new systems
Additional Information:
- Fixed-term contract until 31 July 2026 – with the possibility of making the role permanent after this period.
- Flexible working hours – core hours are typically 10m – 4pm.
- Full time role.
- Based in King’s Cross (Pancras Square).
- Hybrid working – typically 2 days in the office, with Wednesday being a core office day.
- Salary up to £23p/h (+ holiday pay) dependent on experience.
- DBS check required.
