Part-Time Caretaker | Enfield Primary School | ASAP

We are working with a dedicated Voluntary Aided primary school in Enfield to appoint a reliable School Caretaker for a part-time role starting this February half term. This is a full-time hours position specifically for Mondays and Tuesdays, offered on a temporary-to-permanent basis. It is a vital role for an individual who takes pride in maintaining a safe, clean, and secure learning environment for children aged 3–11.

About the School This is a mixed, Voluntary Aided school that sits at the heart of the Enfield community. With a strong inclusive ethos, the school provides a nurturing environment for its pupils and a supportive professional atmosphere for its staff. The site is well-maintained but requires a diligent hand to manage daily reactive maintenance and ensure the premises are always "school-ready." As a member of the premises team, you will be highly valued by the Senior Leadership Team and the wider school family.

The Role The successful candidate will work a split-shift pattern on Mondays and Tuesdays : 7:00 am – 1:00 pm and 2:30 pm – 6:30 pm . Responsibilities include the morning opening and evening securing of the site, basic DIY repairs, and ensuring all health and safety checks are up to date. You will also be responsible for porterage, managing deliveries, and ensuring the playground is free of hazards before the children arrive.

Requirements

• Experience: Previous experience in caretaking, site maintenance, or a skilled trade (plumbing, carpentry, etc.) is highly desirable.

• Reliability: Must be able to commit to the specific split-shift hours every Monday and Tuesday.

• Compliance: Candidates must have the right to work in the UK; the school cannot offer sponsorship. A valid enhanced DBS is essential.

Salary £24,500 – £27,000 per annum, pro-rata.
