MEP Engineer - Nuclear Safety Systems
- Lead and contribute to the design and substantiation of Safety Instrumented Systems (SIS) and high-integrity control systems.
- Perform hazard and risk assessments, determining appropriate Safety Integrity Levels (SIL).
- Develop and review system architectures to meet SIL requirements using appropriate hardware and software.
- Conduct verification and validation activities to ensure compliance with functional safety standards.
- Prepare and support safety case documentation for regulatory approval.
- Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams across mechanical, electrical, and control systems.
- Ensure compliance with IEC 61508, IEC 61511, and ONR SAPs/TAGs. Apply sound engineering judgment and safety practices throughout the project lifecycle.
- Demonstrable experience in delivering engineering activities across a range of project types and complexities.

- Design of mechanical and electrical building services.
- Systems including:
- Heating, cooling, and ventilation (including active ventilation)
- Above-ground drainage (including active effluent)
- Controls and instrumentation
- Low-voltage electrical distribution
- Communications and data systems
- Fire detection and alarm systems
- Industrial and emergency lighting
- Site broadcast (PA) systems
- Experience in substantiating Safety Integrity Level (SIL - BS61582-1), ONR, and high-integrity systems for nuclear safety functions.
- Familiarity with engineering design and safety practices, and internal procedures for health & safety, design, and quality assurance., Degree in a relevant engineering discipline (or equivalent qualification).
- Chartered Engineer status
