Year 2 Teacher | Wandsworth
A welcoming Wandsworth primary is recruiting an outstanding Year 2 Teacher to join a skilled KS1 phase on a Full-Time basis from January 2026. The successful Year 2 Teacher will be invited to collaborative planning before January 2026, will attend induction in January 2026, and will teach from January 2026 as the Year 2 Teacher. This Full-Time Year 2 Teacher role is ideal for a practitioner who loves securing early foundations in reading, writing and mathematics and who values close teamwork and reflective practice.

Year 2 Teacher Responsibilities
The Year 2 Teacher will: deliver systematic phonics and guided reading as the Year 2 Teacher; plan sequenced writing units and practical mathematics sessions as the Year 2 Teacher; design targeted interventions and small-group catch-up as the Year 2 Teacher. The Year 2 Teacher will lead parent consultations, present assessment evidence in moderation meetings and help lead transition preparation toward Key Stage 2. The Year 2 Teacher will prepare resources before January 2026, will participate fully in induction in January 2026, and will teach from January 2026 as the Year 2 Teacher.
Year 2 Teacher Requirements
We seek a Year 2 Teacher with QTS (or equivalent), strong KS1 experience and confident phonics practice. The Year 2 Teacher should be reflective, organised and able to engage families successfully. The Year 2 Teacher must be available for pre-term planning prior to January 2026, for induction in January 2026, and to start in post from January 2026 as the Full-Time Year 2 Teacher.
