A forward-thinking SEN School in South East London is seeking a dynamic and experienced Primary SEN Teacher to join their team. This full-time role is part of a long-term to permanent pathway, offering an exciting opportunity to make meaningful impact in a school that prioritises independence, inclusion, and pupil wellbeing.

• Specialises in supporting pupils with Complex Needs , including Autism and Speech & Language challenges
• Strong and collaborative Senior Leadership Team
• Based in a well-resourced South East London location

The Class & Learning Environment

• KS2 class (Year 5 & Year 6) with 9 pupils
• Supported by 2 Teaching Assistants
• Learners working at P Levels , below age-related expectations
• Needs include behaviour challenges, Autism, and communication difficulties
• Class Teacher holds pastoral responsibility for learners and contributes to EHCP delivery

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality, engaging lessons tailored to individual needs
• Foster a positive, supportive classroom culture
• Apply effective behaviour management strategies
• Collaborate with families, therapists, and the wider school team
• Track and assess pupil progress
• Adapt curriculum using specialist approaches, such as Makaton and PECS
• Incorporate physical activity and wellbeing into teaching
• Participate in ongoing CPD and team learning

Essential Requirements

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
• Proven experience teaching in UK Primary settings
• Confident communicator with strong classroom presence
• SEN experience (Autism, Speech & Language) preferred
• Familiarity with Makaton, PECS, or ABA approaches is a bonus
