The Role – Graduate STEM Teaching Assistant
As a Graduate STEM Teaching Assistant, you’ll play a key role in supporting both teachers and students in STEM subjects. Your responsibilities will include:
- Providing targeted academic support in Maths, Science or related subjects.
- Running small group and 1:1 intervention session to close learning gaps or extend high-achieving students.
- Assisting in the planning and delivery of lessons , with the opportunity to lead parts of lessons over time.
- Helping students develop strong study habits and revision techniques , particularly in preparation for GCSE and A-Level exams.
- Creating a positive learning environment that fosters engagement, confidence, and curiosity in STEM.
- Collaborating with classroom teachers and the wider pastoral and academic teams to ensure every student receives tailored support.
Who We’re Looking For – Graduate STEM Teaching Assistant
We welcome applications from graduates who are:
- Academically strong, with a 2:1 or higher in a STEM-related degree (e.g., Maths, Physics, Engineering, Chemistry, Biology, Computer Science).
- Confident in supporting students at KS3 and KS4(experience at KS5 is a plus).
- Passionate about education and motivated to pursue a career in teaching or educational leadership.
- Strong communicators with a professional, proactive, and adaptable approach.
- Previous experience working with young people—such as tutoring, mentoring, or youth work—is desirable, though not essential.
