Year 6 Teacher | Outstanding Primary Academy | Redbridge
The Opportunity
Redbridge is consistently recognised as one of the highest-performing boroughs in London for primary education, renowned for its leafy residential streets and its commitment to academic excellence. We are seeking a dedicated and high-achieving Year 6 Teacher to join an Ofsted-rated 'Outstanding' primary academy . In this pivotal role, you will lead a class through the final, defining year of their primary journey, ensuring they are intellectually equipped and emotionally prepared for the transition to some of the country’s leading secondary schools.
The School & Academic Culture
You will join a prestigious primary setting where a culture of "high aspirations" is embedded in every classroom.
The school prides itself on a rigorous and enriched curriculum that ensures students achieve mastery in core subjects while flourishing in music, sport, and the humanities.
As an "Outstanding" academy, we offer a sophisticated support structure, including generous PPA (Planning, Preparation, and Assessment) time and access to expert subject leads.
We are deeply valued by the local Redbridge community, benefiting from strong parental engagement and a student body that is motivated, respectful, and eager to learn.
Core Responsibilities
Exemplary Instruction: Delivering high-challenge lessons across the Year 6 curriculum, with a focus on deep conceptual understanding in Mathematics and sophisticated literacy skills.
SATs Leadership: Orchestrating a calm, methodical, and highly effective approach to Key Stage 2 assessments, ensuring every student has the confidence to perform at their absolute best.
Advanced Literacy: Developing students' ability to produce high-level written work, focusing on nuanced vocabulary, complex grammatical structures, and creative flair.
Data-Informed Progress: Utilising the academy’s robust assessment framework to track student attainment and implement precise, impactful interventions.
Holistic Transition: Supporting the "whole child" through the transition process, fostering the resilience, independence, and leadership qualities required for success at Key Stage 3.
The Successful Candidate We are looking for a practitioner who is committed to the pursuit of educational excellence. Requirements include:
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a proven track record of delivering "Good" or "Outstanding" outcomes within Key Stage 2.
Curriculum Expertise: A deep understanding of the end-of-key-stage assessment frameworks and a passion for creative, research-led teaching.
Inspirational Presence: The ability to command a classroom with warmth and authority, building strong, professional relationships with students and families.
Reflective Practice: A professional who values continuous growth and is eager to share best practices within a high-performing staff team.
Why Join Us?
The chance to work in an "Outstanding" environment where student behaviour is exemplary and the school is ranked amongst the top performers in the borough.
Unrivalled professional development pathways, including opportunities for Subject Leadership and supported NPQ (National Professional Qualification) routes.
The opportunity to work in Redbridge—a borough offering an exceptional quality of life, abundant green spaces (such as Valentines Park and Epping Forest), and superb transport links into Central London.
A prestigious professional community that values innovation, academic rigour, and the holistic development of every child.
