Digital Producer (Maternity Cover)

Description
We are seeking a Digital Producer (Maternity Cover) to support the development and production of our digital programme and online platform Channel, a curated space for art, ideas and artistic process. Collaborating across departments at Somerset House and Somerset House Studios the role will develop creative digital strategies and produce a range of content, digital projects and artist-lead commissions.
This role will suit a skilled producer who has experience working directly with artists and creating content for innovative digital art works, products and campaigns.


Key Responsibilities


PROGRAMMING

  • Support the Head of Digital Programming & Production in the growth and development of the digital programme, producing new digital cultural content for Somerset House.
  • Project manage the delivery of selected new digital commissions.
  • Maintain oversight of programme scheduling for the online platform and digital content schedule across Somerset House and Studios channels, working closely with the Programming, Marketing and Press teams to ensure a strategic release, optimised for maximum reach.
Content Production

  • Lead or consult on production for all types of digital content across Somerset House’s cultural departments, including film (short and long form), audio (live and recorded), live broadcasts, interactive digital artworks, microsites and editorial style content
  • Work with the broad range of creatives, in house and external, as lead producer on selected projects, developing streamlined ways of working.
  • Work as lead producer on film projects to manage and collaborate with in house filmmakers or freelance crews – from devising briefs, assembling crews, to organising schedules, artist/contributor outreach, call sheets, and working on clearances/licenses.
  • Collaborate and assist with the edit and post-production process across film and audio work, ensuring the timely delivery of content.
Digital Lead on Commissions

  • Oversee selected artist led commissions for the digital programme or exhibitions programme where needed, e.g. digital commissions and artist films.
  • Work closely with commissioned artists to support in the production of the artist’s work and lead on project management
  • Manage the release of commissions, working across Somerset House and partner distribution channels, ensuring successful engagement from target audiences


Skills, Knowledge and Expertise


  • Experience of working and collaborating with artists and creative practitioners, producing digital projects and commissions in an arts context
  • Project management experience; overseeing and coordinating large scale projects across film, audio and digital, including the management of teams, budget and schedule coordination
  • Film and audio editing experience, with a broad knowledge of editing processes and software for film and audio - (including Adobe Creative Suite)
  • Experience of operating* and supporting with camera equipment, lighting and sound for film
  • Experience or knowledge of producing accessible content for a wide range of digital outputs and events including captioning
  • Experience of website management and working with CMS, working on or managing web-based projects
  • Understanding of production across different digital mediums and web based technologies
  • Technical ability and knowledge in creating film and audio content, along with an understanding of live stream production and processes.
  • A creative and editorial approach, able to generate creative ideas and adapt/repurpose content for a broad range of channels, in line with a project brief
