Waking Night Worker (Mental Health)

Right now, we are looking for a Waking Night Worker to play a pivotal role in our complex needs Service in Wandsworth .
\nSounds great, what will I be doing?
\nThis role provides overnight waking cover to ensure the safety, security, and smooth running of properties within the Cluster and on-call night hub. You will conduct regular health and safety checks, monitor CCTV and alarms, respond to emergencies, and contact on-call managers or emergency services when required. The role includes supporting clients in crisis, maintaining accurate records, and facilitating access to emergency or ongoing support.
\nActing calmly and professionally at all times, you will ensure a safe, supportive environment for clients while adhering to Hestia's health, safety, and safeguarding policies.

\nHere's what the team will be looking for
\nYou bring strong experience in delivering high-quality customer service within supported or accommodation-based settings, ensuring that service users feel respected, safe, and supported at all times. You demonstrate a good understanding of Health and Safety regulations relevant to housing environments, alongside a basic knowledge of housing management, including maintenance, repairs, and the ability to monitor and report any property-related issues promptly.
\nYou have proven experience in working with individuals with mental health needs, with a solid understanding of the signs, symptoms, and treatments of mental illness. You are confident in recognising when a client's mental health is deteriorating and taking the appropriate action to ensure their safety and wellbeing.
\nYou are proficient in maintaining accurate records related to both premises and clients, using computer-based systems and demonstrating strong IT skills across Microsoft Word, Outlook, and internet applications. Your good literacy and numeracy skills enable you to produce clear written correspondence and manage basic financial transactions, such as petty cash, with accuracy and accountability.
\nYou work in line with safeguarding policies, applying your understanding of safeguarding principles to ensure the protection and welfare of all service users. Overall, you combine professionalism, attention to detail, and empathy to deliver safe, efficient, and person-centred support within accommodation-based mental health services.
\nWhen will I be working?
\nYou will be working a shift rota, covering evenings, 39 hours per week, including some weekend shifts.
