Mobile Automotive Technician
Join Our Team as a Mobile Vehicle Technician
Step into a new era of mobile repair with our Service, Maintenance & Repair (SMR) Division. We are looking for a dedicated Mobile Vehicle Technician to join our dynamic team. This role offers a competitive base salary of £45,370 (inclusive of London Weighting Allowance, if applicable), with on-target earnings of up to £57,000 . Enjoy guaranteed overtime options and additional bonus opportunities!
Your Role
As a Mobile Vehicle Technician, you will work a 40-hour week , with core hours from 8:30 am to 5:00 pm and 1 in 4 Saturdays. This is not your typical roadside rescue role; instead, you will deliver planned, structured repairs directly to our members, whether at their driveway or workplace car park. Say goodbye to emergency callouts and unpredictable shifts!
What to Expect
Your day will begin with a clear digital schedule, where each job is pre-booked and the member is expecting you. Your responsibilities will include:
- Routine servicing
- Diagnostics using advanced mobile equipment
- In-depth repairs typically completed in a workshop
- Providing member advice and recommendations based on inspections
- Conducting vehicle safety checks aligned with our standards
With a fully equipped RAC van, fuel card, uniform, and advanced diagnostics at your disposal, you will have everything you need to perform quality work efficiently.
Why Choose SMR?
- Planned appointments instead of emergency responses
- Consistent workflow with no unpredictable demands
- In-depth repairs rather than temporary fixes
- Time to do the job properly, with built-in support and parts ordering
- Clear schedules using our mobile service platform
What You’ll Need
- Level 2 qualification in Light Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent)
- A minimum of 2 years’ experience as a vehicle technician working on light vehicles
- A full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 points
Benefits That Go the Extra Mile
- Competitive Salary: Base salary of £45,370 with opportunities to increase earnings up to £57,000 through bonuses and premium-rate overtime.
- Guaranteed Overtime: After your first month, choose to work extra rest days at £30 per hour.
- Tools to Drive Your Future: Free RAC Ultimate Complete Breakdown Service from day one and access to a car salary sacrifice scheme after 12 months.
- Time Off That Matters: Enjoy 23 days of holiday (rising to 25 with service) plus bank holidays.
- Financial Security & Perks: Pension scheme with up to 6.5% matched contributions and life assurance cover.
- Wellbeing Support: 24/7 confidential support service available for you and your household members.
- Exclusive Discounts: Access to our discount portal with deals across top retailers and more.
Opportunities for Growth
We believe in ongoing development, including future EV and diagnostic skills. You will thrive in a role that offers independence, stability, and the chance to make a real difference in our members' lives.
Who Thrives Here?
If you are not only skilled with tools but also excel in customer interactions, this role is for you. Our Mobile Mechanics are the face of our organization, providing reassurance and high-quality service directly to our members. You will enjoy problem-solving and the variety that each job brings.
Join Us!
At our organization, we are committed to career growth, recognition, and support. We celebrate individuality and welcome people from all backgrounds. If you are ready to take the next step in your career, we encourage you to apply!
