Large Loss Motor Claims Handler

Our client who is a Insurance Company is looking for a Large Loss Claims Handler to join their expanding Motor Claims department in the Surrey office. The purpose of the role is to work within the specialist Commercial Motor Claims team to handle a portfolio of Large Loss Claims.

Main Duties:

* Proactively manage a caseload of technically complex and/or high value claims, including fatalities, spinal cord and brain injury claims
* provide technical support and guidance to less experienced claims handlers and handle technical queries
* Proactive management approach to handle allocation of files.
* Maintaining strong diary management.
* Ensuring your portfolio is realistically and accurately reserved in line with best practice
* Referring claims outside of authority
* Deal with claims from inception through to settlement
* Understand when to utilise external suppliers to ensure the best outcome for the business with minimal claims spend.
* Maintain own technical knowledge through training.

Essential Skills Required:

* Previous experience within a similar Motor Claims role
* Proven capability of handling and negotiating Large Loss claims
* Strong, decisive, and confident communicator
* Driven and enthusiastic
* Accurate with high level of attention to detail

Desirable:

* Good organisation skills
* Strong IT skills

* Salary between £35,000 - £45,000
