A leading international intellectual property firm is seeking an experienced Patent Support Manager to lead the patent administration function across its UK offices.

The Role
This position will play a key role in ensuring the delivery of consistent, efficient and high-quality patent support services across the UK. You will be responsible for leading a multi-site team, implementing aligned processes and enhancing service delivery across the board. Working closely with stakeholders across fee-earning and business support teams, this role will focus on maintaining best practice standards, developing team capability and fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous development.

Responsibilities will include:
  • Managing and developing a team of patent support professionals across multiple UK locations
  • Driving a culture aligned with the firm’s values of teamwork, quality and innovation
  • Reviewing and enhancing patent support processes to ensure consistency and efficiency
  • Acting as a point of contact for internal stakeholders to ensure alignment on business priorities and client service delivery
  • Leading training and development initiatives to support career progression within the team
  • Collaborating with IT, HR, Finance and Learning and Development to improve workflows and systems


The Candidate

  • Significant experience in a leadership or management role within a patent support or formalities function
  • A strong understanding of patent administration workflows, systems and compliance standards
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to develop and retain talent
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively across functions and at all levels
  • A strategic mindset and a track record of implementing process improvements in a legal or professional services environment
