Reeson Education are currently recruiting for a Post 16 SEN TA to join a well-regarded special needs school in Harrow. This is a full-time, temp-to-perm Post 16 SEN TA position starting in September.

The school provides education for young people with additional learning needs, with a strong focus on developing life skills, independence, communication and preparation for adulthood.

About the Post 16 SEN TA role

As a Post 16 SEN TA in Harrow, you will work closely with students aged 16-25, helping them develop practical skills that can be used both within the school environment and in the wider community.

The Post 16 SEN TA will support students with activities such as:

Developing practical life skills
Communication and social skills
Travel training and community-based activities
Preparing for employment and further education
Personal organisation and daily routines
Functional English and Maths
Developing confidence in practical settings
Supporting students to work towards their individual targets

What we are looking for

The school is seeking a Post 16 SEN TA who has:

Previous experience working with young people with SEN
Experience within a school, college, care or youth setting
An understanding of additional learning needs
Good communication skills
A calm and consistent approach
The ability to follow individual learning and behaviour plans
An interest in developing practical and life skills
The ability to work effectively as part of a wider school teamExperience working with students with SEN, ASD, MLD, SLD or complex learning needs would be beneficial, although relevant transferable experience will also be considered.
