We have an excellent opportunity for a Mechanical Technician to join our Maintenance team at our Hampton WTW. As the successful candidate, your role will be to ensure that all equipment at our waste treatment works is safe to use and running efficiently using proactive and reactive maintenance methods to assist in keeping such a site running. What you’ll be doing as the Mechanical Technician- Investigate plant failures and perform repairs as quickly and efficiently as possible to avoid interruptions to the process. This may involve investigating and diagnosing complex faults and performing repairs during incidents.
- You will be expected to provide technical advice, refer to up-to-date technical knowledge, and provide training or support for technical trainees if required.
- Examples of equipment that you will be working on include motors, gearboxes, screw /chain conveyors & centrifuges, various pumps, and associated control gear, 3-phase motors, starters, automatic valves, flow, level and pressure measurement, programmable, chemical handling, and dosing equipment.
- Completing statutory checks as required.
- Always working safely and complying with all Health and Safety guidance and procedures.
- ONC/HNC in engineering, NVQ, or C&G level 3 in mechanical engineering qualification in Mechanical Engineering is crucial.
- Knowledge and awareness of health and safety issues are crucial.
- The work will require physical fitness, as you will work in confined spaces with the successful completion of the appropriate training.
- A valid driving licence is essential, and all necessary equipment, such as the vehicle and tools, is provided.
- Competitive salary up to £39,000 per annum, depending on skills and experience.
- Standby rota payments & Overtime opportunities can increase this earning potential by up to a further £8,000-£10,000 per annum upon completion of essential company training.
- Performance-related pay plan directly linked to company performance measures and targets.
- 24 days holiday per year, increasing to 28 days with the length of service. (Plus bank holidays)
- Contributory pension – Defined Contribution - Maximum of 12% -2x employee contribution.
