Key Responsibilities:
- Curriculum Delivery: Teach Geography with passion and expertise across Key Stage 3 (KS3), GCSE (KS4), and A-Level (KS5) , ensuring exceptional student attainment in all areas, from tectonic hazards to urban change.
- Fieldwork & Investigation: Organize and lead compulsory fieldwork opportunities, utilizing geographical skills to collect and analyze data both locally and potentially further afield.
- Contemporary Issues: Engage students in critical discussions about current geographical issues, including climate change, globalization, and sustainable development.
- Departmental Collaboration: Work closely with the Humanities faculty to develop a rich and stimulating curriculum and share effective teaching methodologies.
Candidate Profile: What We're Looking For
We're seeking a Geography specialist who can inspire curiosity and analytical thinking in students across the full age range.
Essential Requirements:
- Qualification: A degree in Geography or a closely related Environmental/Earth Science discipline.
- Certification: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent UK teaching qualification (PGCE).
- Experience: Proven success teaching Geography at the secondary level, with competence and strong results at A-Level .
- Skills: Excellent communication, strong organizational skills for managing fieldwork, and effective classroom management.
