Director Global Communications

JOB PURPOSE
The Global Communications Director will lead the strategic development and execution of high-impact, global communications plans that elevate the Burberry brand and engage key audiences across the world. This role is central to defining and driving bold, innovative communication strategies that support product launches, campaigns, events, and talent initiatives, aiming to increase brand awareness and strengthen Burberry’s global presence. With a focus on the global market, the Director will play a key role in defining communication priorities for both brand and product teams, ensuring the flawless delivery of PR and marketing activities across diverse regions.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Define and roll out global communications strategies in collaboration with brand and product teams, creating tailored frameworks for different markets with clear KPIs.
- Lead communication strategies for product launches, ad campaigns, talent partnerships, and global collaborations, ensuring alignment across all markets.
- Develop seasonal strategies for product launches and marketing activations, including the creation and distribution of asset toolkits (imagery, lookbooks, samples) to support regional execution.
- Innovate and optimise communications for global events, such as fashion shows and press activations, maximizing media coverage and audience engagement.
- Manage the sample trafficking and logistics teams, ensuring strategic and smooth distribution across regions.
- Oversee budget management for communications activities, ensuring efficient allocation of resources to maximize impact.
- Collaborate with global and regional PR teams, providing guidance to ensure alignment with brand strategies and market-specific needs.
PERSONAL PROFILE
- Extensive experience in luxury fashion PR, with a proven track record in leading global communications strategies and executing high-profile brand initiatives.
- Global market experience in executing communications strategies across diverse regions, with a keen understanding of local market dynamics and global branding.
- Strong understanding of the luxury fashion industry, with a refined sensibility for brand image, storytelling, and media relations at the highest level.
- Comprehensive knowledge of the global media landscape, with established relationships with top-tier fashion editors, stylists, influencers, and media outlets.
- Proven ability to lead and manage cross-functional teams, driving collaboration and aligning diverse stakeholders to achieve common objectives.
- Strong leadership and strategic thinking, with experience in managing high-impact projects, budgets, and crossregional operations.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey complex strategies clearly and inspire teams to deliver outstanding results.
