Marchant Recruitment
London

Inspire Pupils at the Start of Lower Key Stage 2

We are seeking an enthusiastic, dedicated, and experienced Year 3 Teacher to join a welcoming primary school in Southwark, starting as soon as possible. This is an exciting opportunity to teach pupils as they transition into Key Stage 2, helping them consolidate foundational skills, develop independence, and foster a love of learning.

The successful candidate will take full responsibility for a Year 3 class, delivering high-quality, engaging lessons across the curriculum. The school values inclusive practice, high expectations, and pupil wellbeing, and is looking for a teacher who can motivate and inspire pupils academically, socially, and emotionally.

You will join a collaborative KS2 team where shared planning, professional reflection, and support are encouraged. Leadership is approachable and committed to providing staff with the guidance and resources necessary to deliver excellent teaching and learning.

The Role

As a Year 3 Teacher, you will plan, deliver, and assess lessons that challenge pupils and support progress for all abilities. You will use assessment effectively to track pupil development, identify gaps, and inform future teaching. Supporting pupils’ social, emotional, and behavioural growth will be a key aspect of the role, helping them become resilient, confident, and independent learners.

You will work closely with teaching assistants, colleagues, and phase leaders to ensure continuity and high standards across Key Stage 2. You will also communicate regularly with parents and carers, keeping them informed about their child’s progress and achievements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan, deliver, and assess high-quality lessons across the Year 3 curriculum

  • Monitor and track pupil progress using assessment to inform planning

  • Differentiate learning to meet the needs of all pupils, including SEND and EAL learners

  • Maintain a safe, structured, and inclusive classroom environment

  • Promote positive behaviour, resilience, and independence

  • Collaborate with teaching assistants and KS2 colleagues

  • Communicate effectively with parents and carers

  • Participate in staff meetings, CPD, and whole-school initiatives

The Ideal Candidate

The successful applicant will:

  • Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)

  • Have experience teaching Key Stage 2, ideally Year 3

  • Be confident in curriculum delivery, assessment, and differentiation

  • Possess excellent classroom management and organisational skills

  • Be reflective, proactive, and adaptable

  • Be committed to inclusive practice and safeguarding

  • Have a positive, professional approach to teamwork

Early Career Teachers are encouraged to apply and will be supported with mentoring.

Why Join This School?

  • Supportive leadership and collaborative KS2 team

  • Well-resourced classrooms and structured planning support

  • Opportunities for professional development and CPD

  • Pupils who are motivated, engaged, and eager to learn

  • A positive school culture that values staff wellbeing

  • A welcoming and inclusive school community

Location

The school is based in Southwark, with excellent transport links and a vibrant local community. Staff benefit from a professional, supportive, and inclusive working environment.

How to Apply

To apply, please forward an up-to-date copy of your CV, clearly outlining your qualifications, experience, and suitability for the role.
