Project Manager

Aldwych Consulting
London
The Opportunity

We are partnering with a well-established and growing construction consultancy in London to recruit a Project Manager to join its expanding team.

This is an excellent opportunity for a Project Manager with an architectural background who is looking to develop their career within a consultancy environment. You will work across a diverse portfolio of construction projects, taking responsibility for project delivery from initial concept and design through to completion.

Working closely with clients, architects, consultants, contractors and other key stakeholders, you will play an integral role in coordinating project teams, managing delivery and ensuring projects are completed in line with agreed programmes, budgets and quality standards.

The ideal candidate will combine strong project management capabilities with a solid understanding of architectural design and the wider construction process.

Key Responsibilities

  • Managing construction projects throughout the full project lifecycle, from inception and design through to completion.
  • Acting as a key point of contact for clients and project stakeholders.
  • Coordinating architects, design teams, consultants, contractors and other project professionals.
  • Managing project programmes, budgets, risks and progress reporting.
  • Supporting procurement strategies, tendering processes and contractor appointments.
  • Monitoring project progress, identifying potential risks and implementing appropriate solutions.
  • Attending client and project meetings, providing clear updates on programme, costs and delivery.
  • Overseeing project documentation and ensuring appropriate governance throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Ensuring effective communication between design and delivery teams.
  • Building and maintaining strong, long-term relationships with clients and project stakeholders.

About You

We are looking for a motivated and commercially aware Project Manager with experience in the construction or property sector and, ideally, a background in architecture or architectural design.

You will have a good understanding of the design process and how architectural projects progress from concept through to construction and completion. This role would suit someone with architectural experience who has moved into project management or is looking to take the next step in their career within a construction consultancy.

You will ideally have:

  • An architectural background, with experience in architectural design, building design or working within an architectural practice.
  • Experience managing or coordinating construction projects from inception through to completion.
  • A strong understanding of design development, construction processes and project delivery.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • The ability to coordinate multidisciplinary design teams, consultants and contractors.
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage project programmes, budgets and competing priorities.
  • Good commercial awareness and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
  • A relevant qualification in architecture, construction, property or project management.

Previous consultancy experience would be advantageous. However, candidates from an architectural practice, contractor or client-side environment will also be considered, provided they have the relevant project management experience and a strong understanding of the construction process.

What's on Offer?

  • 40,000 - 55,000 salary, depending on experience.
  • The opportunity to join an established and growing construction consultancy.
  • Exposure to a varied portfolio of construction projects.
  • Clear opportunities for career development and progression.
  • A supportive and collaborative working environment.
  • The opportunity to combine architectural knowledge with project management and client-facing responsibilities.

Interested?

If you have an architectural background and experience in project management, and are considering your next career move within a growing London construction consultancy, we would love to hear from you.
