Pension Fund Accountant

We're looking for a Pension Fund Accountant for a leading UK organisation based in London (hybrid) on an initial contract, paying up to £400 per day (Umbrella).

This is a hybrid role with a mix of remote and office-based working.

The successful Pension Fund Accountant will take ownership of the financial reporting and reconciliation activity for a substantial local government pension fund, working closely with an Investment and Accounting Manager. They'll compile the Pension Fund Report and Accounts to CIPFA standards, manage monthly transaction reports across the fund's portfolio, and maintain full audit trails for internal and external auditors. The role also involves liaising with fund managers, custodians, and pension administrators, as well as supporting ESG reporting and passive equity voting processes.

You will need proven experience working with the following:

- Pension fund accounting
- Local government finance
- Complex financial reconciliations
- Suspense account management
- General ledger systems
- Financial reporting and accounts preparation
- Audit trail maintenance and working papers
- Stakeholder liaison with fund managers, custodians and auditors

You'll also need practical exposure to the following, which would be beneficial:

- CIPFA reporting requirements
- ESG reporting
- Investment accounting
- London CIV structures and reporting
- Passive equity voting support
