Science Technician - Join an Outstanding School in Harrow

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Science Technician to join an Outstanding Ofsted-rated secondary school in Harrow.

The school is looking for someone who can take ownership of the practical side of the Science Department and ensure teachers are fully prepared for their lessons. This would suit someone who enjoys working behind the scenes, is confident around laboratory equipment and takes pride in maintaining high standards.

Your day-to-day work will include:

• Getting practical lessons ready before students arrive

• Preparing equipment, materials and chemicals

• Supporting teachers across the three Science disciplines

• Setting up experiments and demonstrations

• Cleaning, checking and maintaining laboratory equipment

• Keeping stockrooms and laboratories organised

• Monitoring supplies and arranging replenishment

• Following COSHH and school health and safety procedures

• Recording equipment issues and arranging repairs where necessary

Who would suit this role?

Previous experience as a Science Technician or Laboratory Technician would be ideal. Experience working within a scientific, medical or technical environment may also be relevant.

You’ll need to be hands-on, dependable and methodical, with the confidence to manage your own workload. A good understanding of laboratory safety is important, as is the ability to work positively with teachers and students.
