Renewables Industrial Placement
About the Role
Ready to explore your passion for offshore wind, engineering or sustainability? Interested in shaping the future of energy? At EDF, Success is Personal. Here, you’ll learn from experts, develop key skills and launch your unique career within a business that’s helping Britain achieve net zero.
“Our Industrial Placement gives you the opportunity to work with key stakeholders to support the ongoing development of EDF's offshore wind farms in the UK and Ireland, as well as in other countries around the world.” – Arnaud, Renewables Team Head
The Opportunity
This 12-month placement offers a starting salary of £26,750 and the chance to work at our UK Research and Development Centre in # London. You’ll contribute to research that supports EDF’s offshore wind portfolio and helps tackle future energy challenges.
You’ll gain insight into areas such as Meteocean, construction and installation, operation and maintenance, and cost-modelling. You’ll also explore how innovation can reduce costs and improve EDF’s competitiveness in the renewables sector.
What You’ll Be Doing
During your Renewables Industrial Placement, you’ll support the development, construction, maintenance and decommissioning of offshore wind projects totalling 23 GW. Past students have built skills in coding, cost modelling, technical reporting and client engagement.
This placement offers practical learning in a collaborative environment. You’ll work with stakeholders across EDF, develop technical and non-technical capabilities and gain exposure to real-world applications of academic research.
