Construction Manager
Location: London - Hampstead
Salary: Competitive
Contract Type: Permanent
Working Hours: 40 hours per week, Monday-Friday
Lead from the front. Deliver on time. Drive quality across every site.
You take pride in delivering prestigious civil engineering, utilities, highways, or infrastructure projects safely, efficiently, and to specification. You know how to coordinate multiple sites, manage teams, and maintain client confidence, ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest standard.
We’re seeking an experienced Construction Manager to oversee operational delivery across large-scale infrastructure and public realm projects within our Landscape, Design, and Energy division. These projects typically involve groundworks, utilities installation, external works, and complex infrastructure construction, so experience within civil engineering, utilities, highways, or infrastructure projects is essential.
This is a hands-on leadership role with responsibility for site operations, safety, quality, team performance, and client management across one or multiple sites.
What you’ll do
Project Leadership: Take full ownership of prestigious projects, ensuring sites are running safely, efficiently, and on schedule.
Site Oversight: Manage multiple high-profile sites, coordinate site logistics, resources, and workflows, and support Site Managers to deliver operational excellence.
Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and motivate site teams and subcontractors to achieve project targets, ensuring clarity, accountability, and high-quality output.
Compliance & Safety: Maintain up-to-date permits, RAMS, and health & safety documentation. Conduct site inspections, quality audits, and ensure strict compliance with HSQE standards.
Client Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with clients through proactive communication and regular updates, ensuring confidence in delivery.
Decision Making: Make daily on-site decisions considering operational, environmental, and safety factors, escalating issues as necessary.
Systems & Reporting: Use systems like Microsoft Office, Skillco, and Safety Culture to monitor site progress, update reports, and maintain compliance records.
What you’ll get
Responsibility for delivering high-profile, prestigious projects successfully.
Opportunity to lead and develop Site Managers and Field Teams.
Exposure to complex civil engineering, utilities, and infrastructure projects.
Support from operational teams while maintaining autonomy over delivery.
A role where your decisions directly influence project success, safety, and quality.
Competitive salary and benefits package.
What we’re looking for
Proven experience managing prestigious hard landscaping, civil engineering, utilities, infrastructure, highways, or groundworks projects.
Valid CSCS and SMSTS qualifications.
Hands-on experience delivering projects on live construction sites involving groundworks, utilities, or streetworks.
Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Office packages.
Excellent understanding of Risk Assessment Method Statements (RAMS).
Extensive knowledge of health & safety regulations and site compliance.
Confident, proactive, and decisive leader with strong organisational skills and the ability to run multiple high-profile projects independently.
Ability to communicate effectively with clients, subcontractors, and internal teams.
If you’re ready to take ownership of prestigious site delivery, lead from the front, and ensure every project is delivered safely, on time, and to the highest standard, we want to hear from you.
