If you are passionate about geology and resource estimation, and thrive in a collaborative environment, we want to hear from you!

Reporting to the MES Lead, working from either London or elsewhere in the UK, we're seeking people with more than just great technical skills, but a drive and passion to grow and do things differently. In the world's largest mining consultancy, this is where you start, where you take it from there is up to you.

What You Can Expect to Do Here:
  • Develop and refine geological models to support resource estimation.

  • Lead quality assurance and quality control reviews on various projects.
  • Contribute to and critically review technical reports and studies.
  • Collaborate on the preparation and definition of scope for geological mining studies including Preliminary Economic Assessments (PEA), Pre-Feasibility Studies (PFS), and Feasibility Studies (FS).
  • Drive business growth by promoting WSP's capabilities and attracting new clients.
  • Attend and participate in client meetings, field reviews, and project oversight, often on short notice and across various locations.
  • Perform additional duties as required to support project success.
What You'll Bring to WSP:
  • Bachelor Degree in geology from a recognised university and/or equivalent qualification.
  • Minimum 10+ years of resource estimation experience in a variety of commodities and deposit types, preferably within a consulting environment.
  • Registered as a Chartered Geologist (CGeol) in the UK or equivalent.
  • Familiar with international and public disclosure and reporting codes, including NI 43-101, S-K 1300, JORC, SAMREC, SME Guide, Competent Persons Reports, Mineral Resource Reports, etc.
  • Skills in geostatistics and resources estimations.
  • Ability and willingness to undertake a Competent Person/Qualified Person role on public disclosure projects.
  • Knowledge of mining fundamentals and techniques, rock mechanics, and mineral processing.
  • Excellent knowledge of computer applications including Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Working knowledge of 3D modeling software, mapping & geological database software: Datamine, Surpac, Minesight, Vulcan, Leapfrog Geo, Isatis, etc.
  • Knowledge and experience with scripts and macros.
  • Ability to communicate with colleagues and clients in a professional and technical manner.
  • Flexibility to travel as required for project work.
  • Fluent in the English language with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work and complete tasks with limited supervision, make informed decisions, and take responsibility on technical matters.
  • Possess a team player attitude and be able to work in a project team environment.
