A supportive and ambitious secondary school in Barnet is seeking a Graduate Humanities Academic Mentor to join their team. This role is ideal for graduates considering teacher training who want to make a meaningful impact on student progress and attainment.

The Role

As a Graduate Humanities Academic Mentor, you will work closely with the Humanities department to support students across Key Stages 3 and 4 , helping them develop confidence, subject knowledge, and strong study skills.

Key responsibilities include:

• Delivering 1:1 and small-group academic mentoring in Humanities subjects.
• Supporting students during lessons to improve engagement and understanding.
• Leading targeted interventions to raise attainment and close learning gaps.
• Assisting teachers with lesson resources, preparation, and assessments.
• Encouraging critical thinking, independent learning, and academic resilience.
• Acting as a positive role model within the school community.

This role provides excellent preparation for PGCE, Schools Direct, or other teacher training routes .

Person Specification
