Teacher of English Opportunity | Barnet | September Start
A unique Independent school in Barnet is seeking a creative and scholarly English Teacher for a full-time, permanent role starting in September 2026. Responsibilities
Deliver a knowledge-rich English curriculum across KS3 to KS5, focusing on critical theory and historiography.
Foster high-level communication skills by encouraging students to share ideas and speak out with confidence.
Oversee student-led publications, literary magazines, or creative writing clubs.
Contribute to a broad enrichment programme, linking Literature to drama and social history.
Work with a supportive leadership team that prioritizes professional trust and staff wellbeing.
Requirements
Degree in English Literature or a related field.
PGCE or QTS.
Ability to inspire a deep love for reading and critical interpretation.
Must have the right to work in the UK.
Salary and Benefits
Full-time, permanent contract.
Competitive salary scale set above the state equivalent + Bespoke School Allowance .
Benefits include small class sizes (maximum 15), a "no-email" policy after 6:00 PM, and private healthcare.
