A high-performing secondary school and sixth form in Barnet is looking to appoint a passionate and committed Teacher of Science with the ability to teach A-Level Chemistry for a permanent, part-time position starting in September 2026. The successful candidate will deliver engaging and advanced lessons that help students build deep scientific inquiry and formula proficiency. The Role
Teaching Science across KS3 and KS4, with a specialist focus on A-Level Chemistry
Planning and delivering engaging lessons in line with the UK curriculum
Supporting students of all abilities to achieve strong academic outcomes
Contributing to STEM masterclasses and laboratory clinics
Working closely with a dedicated team of technicians and science educators
Requirements
Applicants must have:
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
A degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, or a related Science discipline
Direct experience teaching Chemistry up to A-Level and general science to GCSE
Strong classroom management skills
The legal right to work in the UK
Salary & Hours
Salary: M1 – UPS3 (Outer London Pay Scale)
Hours: Part-time (Up to 0.6 FTE equivalent)
