Net Zero Delivery Lead in City of London
Job description
About Furthr
Furthr is a sustainability services provider committed to helping businesses reduce their environmental impact and transition to more sustainable practices. We specialise in providing comprehensive solutions for measuring and managing carbon footprints, aligning with international frameworks such as the Greenhouse Gas Protocol.
Role Overview
We are seeking a confident, delivery-focused individual to join our team as a Net Zero Delivery Lead. The successful candidate will play a key role in leading complex sustainability programmes across multiple workstreams, analysing client carbon footprints and developing decarbonisation models and transition plans, utilising the Greenhouse Gas Protocol, Transition Plan Taskforce and other relevant frameworks.
This position requires a strong ability to handle and process data, stakeholder engagement and program management. This is an opportunity for someone passionate about delivering measurable climate impact and guiding organisations through credible, evidence-based sustainability transformation.
The ideal candidate will bring proven experience turning strategy into action: managing multi-stakeholder programmes, coordinating data and supply chain engagement, and delivering tangible emissions reductions. This role is suited to someone who thrives on both programme delivery and meaningful engagement.
Key Responsibilities
Programme Management
- Lead multi-workstream client programmes covering measurement, planning, and implementation phases.
- Manage progress, risks, and dependencies through Furthr’s Notion-based programme management system.
- Coordinate cross-functional teams and maintain clear communication with senior client stakeholders.
- Build engaging, educational content and materials that translate sustainability concepts into practical actions.
Decarbonisation and Transition Planning
- Analyse emissions data to identify hotspots and prioritise high-impact reduction levers.
- Develop initiative-level decarbonisation plans with timelines, accountability, and measurable outcomes.
- Create structured transition plans aligned to SBTi, TPT, and PPN 06/21 frameworks.
- Design and support implementation programmes that embed change within client operations and supply chains.
Data and Supply Chain Engagement
- Design efficient data collection and validation workflows across finance, energy, and procurement.
- Review existing data to identify gaps and opportunities to improve measurement, enhancing data quality and completeness.
- Lead supplier engagement to enhance data quality and drive upstream decarbonisation.
Other Worstreams Covered:
Strategic and Technical Development
- Support delivery of Environmental Management Systems (ISO 14001), Double Materiality Assessments, and CSRD-aligned disclosures, as well as SBTi target development, CDP submissions, and related sustainability reporting frameworks.
- Develop offset procurement strategies, stress testing and analysing adherence to quality thresholds such as the ICVCM / CCQI methodologies.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of Furthr’s methodologies, templates, and digital tools.
What We're Looking for:
- Demonstrated success managing large sustainability or decarbonisation programmes with multiple workstreams, including supply chain engagement.
- Confidence in stakeholder engagement and communicating complex sustainability concepts through written and visual content.
- Experience designing and delivering credible transition and decarbonisation strategies (preferably with implementation outcomes).
- Experience in carbon accounting using the GHG Protocol (Scopes 1–3) and related standards (ISO 14064, SECR).
- Familiarity with SBTi, TPT and CSRD.
- Strong project management skills, with confidence using tools such as Notion for programme tracking and collaboration.
- Experience with data and analysis tools such as BigQuery, Python, or Power Query is highly desirable but not essential.
Offer:
- Competitive Base Salary: £40,000–£45,000 for a mid-level analyst role, with quick progression options in a young team
- Flexible Working: While we value remote working flexibility, we encourage being part of our in-office team to fully experience our collaborative culture.
Perks:
- FurthrApp personal Account to manage personal climate impact and fund projects monthly on your behalf
- Pension Scheme for all staff
- Annual field trips for projects funded
- Training and Upskilling Pathway
You will thrive with us if you have that core drive to help our planet and to restore our world's nature. We offer financial incentives of course, but if you're searching for purpose too, then we'd really like to talk to you.
