Job Description:
We are seeking a Band 7 Locum Specialist Mental Health Dietitian to join our team at Springfield Hospital. In this role, you will provide expert dietetic support to service users within the mental health inpatient services, including acute admissions, rehabilitation, forensics, older people’s services, and CAMHS.
Key Responsibilities?
As a Band 7 Locum Specialist Mental Health Dietitian you will undertake comprehensive clinical assessments to identify the dietary needs of service users. You will develop and implement appropriate dietetic interventions tailored to meet the individual needs of clients with complex physical and psychological conditions. You will utilize outcome measures to evaluate the effectiveness of interventions and make necessary adjustments. You will be aware of patients at high psychiatric risk and liaise with the multidisciplinary team to ensure safe and effective management of these individuals. You will act as an autonomous practitioner, taking full responsibility for the dietetic care you provide and maintaining high professional standards. You will contribute to the training and development of staff in relation to dietetic practices and mental health.
Qualifications and Experiences:
- Must be registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
- Significant experience as a Dietitian, particularly within mental health settings.
- Strong knowledge of nutrition and dietary interventions related to mental health.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with service users and multidisciplinary teams.
- Ability to work independently and manage a diverse caseload.
- Experience in using outcome measures to assess patient progress.
