About the Role In our Disease Team as a trainee you will work alongside experienced Solicitors, supporting individuals who have suffered injury or loss and require specialist legal advice and representation. You will be guided and mentored by highly experienced specialists within your team while developing the practical skills required to progress your legal career. Responsibilities vary but may include:
- Assisting with client consultations and meetings, gathering relevant information and supporting the progression of cases.
- Drafting legal documents including court papers, correspondence, and other legal documentation.
- Conducting legal research to support case preparation, strategy and advice to clients.
- Liaising with clients, medical professionals, financial institutions, public bodies and other third parties to progress claims efficiently.
- Attending court hearings and case reviews alongside Senior Solicitors and Advocates where appropriate.
- Maintaining accurate records and ensuring all work is carried out in accordance with regulatory and firm compliance requirements. We are seeking a motivated and ambitious individual with a genuine enthusiasm for the legal profession and a strong interest in personal injury law. Applicants should demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills, the ability to manage their time effectively, and confidence working in a fast-paced environment. A high level of attention to detail, a proactive approach to solving problems, and a commitment to delivering exceptional client service are essential. Applicants must be able to travel to our Glasgow office where this role is based full time (hybrid working is not available). Applicants must have completed, or be due to complete, their Diploma in Professional Legal Practice by no later than August 2026 and must be available to begin their traineeship on 1stSeptember 2026.
