About the Role
Reporting to the Marketing Manager, the role of CIPFA’s Marketing Executive is key in helping move CIPFA to a matrix-oriented go-to-market strategy (i.e. issues-based marketing through CIPFA’s key sectors and associated key customers).
The Marketing Executive will provide support by the production of newsletters, bespoke mailings, social media (both paid-for and organic) and updating website pages as required. The website, social media and digital marketing responsibilities of this job will be key in helping CIFPA to have a more impactful presence with stakeholders and wider society. KEY TASKS:Newsletters:
- Working with the appropriate business lead - gather content, write and publish all marketing-focused newsletters.
- Establish the benchmark of ROE with each newsletter and maintain the threshold. Monitor the engagement and ROI of any services offered within the newsletters
Website and Digital Marketing
- Own and regularly review the website pages for a range of CIPFA’s products & services, including Data, CIPFA Solutions, sector landing pages and all campaign landing pages
- Report monthly on traffic to website pages – to all marketing team members
- Own (CIPFA’s email marketing system) – arranging training for CIPFA colleagues, assisting team members with mailings, reporting ROI and trouble shooting as appropriate
- Work alongside the Marketing Manager and Customer Experience Manager to improve techniques such as Marketing Automation to help generate leads for BD and improve customer journeys
- Work alongside Customer Services and the Data teams to troubleshoot CRM issues
- Own, manage and report on paid-for social media activities – from time-to-time we will engage a social media agency and the Marketing Executive will be the day-to-day contact for this agency
- Own, manage and report on PPC activities
Merchandise and Collateral:
- Working with Marketing colleagues as well as CIPFA’s events team, be the gatekeeper for CIPFA’s marketing banners, stands and other exhibition collateral, e.g. ensuring kit is returned from events and appropriately stored and maintained
- Monitor and maintain stock levels for brochure-ware and merchandising
- Monitor and source new merchandise as required by the Marketing team and wider CIPFA colleagues
- Note – all stock is kept centrally by a third party (who also courier and set up for events)
- Helping other Marketing colleagues on an ad-hoc basis as required
- Occasional travel will be required, e.g. to both CIPFA and other industry events
About You
You’re a creative and data-driven marketer who thrives on delivering results. Confident across both paid and organic channels, you combine a strategic mindset with hands-on skills, ensuring campaigns not only look good but perform exceptionally. You’re commercially aware, comfortable working independently, and enjoy collaborating across teams to make a measurable impact.
You will have:
- Proven experience in PPC and paid social media, plus a strong track record in organic social media
- Knowledge of Google Analytics and the ability to use data to inform decisions and report on performance
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with an ability to adapt your tone for different audiences
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects at pace
- A results-focused, analytical mindset with commercial acumen
- A collaborative approach, able to work closely with colleagues in marketing, business development, and beyond
It would be great if you also have:
- Experience in SEO, email marketing platforms (e.g. Communigator/Spotler), or customer segmentation
- CIM qualification (completed or in progress)
- Previous experience in professional, legal, or financial services
- Familiarity with Google Tag Manager or display advertising
